Forest Recreation

Idaho is famous for its quality of life. Its scenic beauty and abundant resources attract a variety of visitors: anglers casting on world-class streams, hoping to reel in record trout; adventure-seekers basking in the sunshine after floating some of the nation's greatest whitewater rivers; a family on a weekend drive watching for wildflowers, wildlife, and a scenic picnic area; backpackers soaking in a natural hot spring after a full day on the trail; and eleted hunters packing out their prize game.

Within Idaho, there are more than 100 state parks (totalling one million acres); 10 national parks (another 10 million acres); 100 million acres of designated wilerness, and hundreds of other recreation areas.
