Caring for the Forests
As the population in Idaho and our nation grows, so does the demand
for forest resources. The challenge is to supply the wood that a growing
country needs, and also to accommodate more and more people looking for
recreation opportunities.
Idaho's forestry professionals are working to meet this challenge. They
know that caring for the forest means protecting our environment, while
managing the forest for the needs of today's population and the generations
to come. This includes reforestation, protecting forest resources such
as streams and wildlife, managing forest health, applying improved tree
genetics, and much more. Their knowledge of the forest's soil, water, fish,
and wildlife is always growing, and the care they provide for the total
forest environment becomes more important every day.
