Grants Available for Forest-Minded Teachers of Idaho!!



What: The Idaho Forest Products Commission is pleased to offer grants of up to $200 for forest-related education projects and activities.

Who: All teachers who will be teaching in Idaho during the upcoming school year are eligible to apply.

When: Application deadline is August 15. Grants will be awarded by September 15. Applications are accepted year-round.

IDAHO EDUCATORS RECEIVE FOREST EDUCATION GRANTS

Boise, October 6, 2008....The Idaho Forest Products Commission has awarded 24 educators with grant monies to help implement forest-related teaching in Idaho schools. Winning proposals for grants of up to $200 each were selected from applications submitted from throughout the state. The Idaho Weed Awareness Campaign and Forestry License plates also contributed to this year's teacher grants!

"Teachers spend hundreds of dollars of their own money on materials to enhance their students' learning," said IFPC's Education Coordinator, Michelle Youngquist. "Through these grants we aim to relieve some of that burden by supporting their innovative teaching about Idaho's trees, forests and forest products."
