DESCRIPTION:WHEN: April 28\, 2026 | 8:30 am – 3:30pm \nLOCATION: Boise\, Idaho – more details to come soon! \nWhat Is A Tree Talker?\nTree Talkers are forest professionals who represent the Idaho Forest Products Commission and Project Learning Tree by leading classroom presentations and other educational outreach based on PLT lessons. They promote environmental education and forest literacy among students and educators. Becoming a Tree Talker comes with several benefits\, including: \nWorkshop Outcomes\n\nConfident and Engaged Educators – Participants will gain hands-on experience with Project Learning Tree’s (PLT) curriculum and learn best practices for engaging K-12 students in forest education. They will leave with the knowledge and tools to lead impactful outreach presentations. Workshop is eligible for CFE and Idaho Pro-Logger credits.\nStrengthened Professional Networks – Participants will connect with a diverse network of professionals\, fostering collaboration and continued learning within the Tree Talker community.\nEmpowered Ambassadors for Forest Literacy – By completing the workshop\, participants will be equipped to inspire the next generation with meaningful lessons about trees\, forests\, and sustainability\, helping to shape future green leaders.\n\nCOST: $45

DESCRIPTION:WHO:  PLT for Elementary Educators Clearwater Region\n \nWHEN: March 10-11\, 2023. Kamiah. ID 9:00 am – 3:30 pm each day. (March 10 is a professional day for teachers in many local school districts. March 11 is an optional second day for those who would like to earn 1 credit. Plus\, it will be another really fun day!)\n \nWHAT: Experience place based hands-on activities\, both indoors and out\, that are designed specifically for use with elementary youth. Explore the new state-of-the-art Forest Service building in Kamiah that showcases the latest in mass timber building technologies and green design. This beautiful structure was built by local contractors using wood products from around the region. Learn about trees\, forests\, recycling and more – just in time for your spring teaching units. Receive Project Learning Tree’s award-winning Explore Your Environment K-8 Educator Guide and supporting resources. You’ll leave with Monday-ready activities to use with your students. Come for one or both days! Those attending both days will qualify for 1 professional development credit (for recertification and/or payscale movement) from choice of University of Idaho or NW Nazarene University.\n\n \nCOST: The cost is $45.  Cost is free for teachers from the Clearwater region.  For educators in the region use Coupon Code ‘CLEARWATER” during checkout.\n
