Join the Idaho State Museum and Project Learning Tree for this 1-credit teacher workshop. Explore the past\, present and future of wildfire in our beautiful state. Visit state-of-the-art exhibits and experience hands-on\, minds-on Project Learning Tree lessons and activities to use with 4th-8th grade students. You’ll learn how fire works\, how it has shaped our state and people\, who depends on it\, how it’s changing\, what could happen next\, and what people can do to live more safely with fire. \nCREDIT: One (1) optional professional development credit (for recertification) is available from choice of Northwest Nazarene University or Boise State University\, $60 payable to the university.

DESCRIPTION:When: Sign up for and complete class anytime \nWhere: Online \nWhat: Through this self-paced 3-4 hour online training\, you will receive PLT’s PreK-8th Grade Environmental Education Activity Guide\, which provides 96 hands-on activities that engage your students in learning – both outside and indoors – about their environment. Project Learning Tree’s multi-disciplinary activities are designed to develop students’ critical thinking\, problem-solving\, and decision-making skills. PLT teaches students how to think\, not what to think about the environment.  \nCredit: The certificate you’ll receive upon completion of the course may be submitted for 4 Idaho STARS hours.
