“No One Ever Called the Indoors Great.”
Play It Safe
Take a deep breath and let’s go on a little mental field trip to the forest. Think of the things you love to do when you’re there. Now imagine your blue skies are filled with gray smoke. And the dirt that used to be on the hillsides has turned the clear water in your favorite fishing spot to a cloudy brown. Not fun. Fish need clean water and I need to fish, of course. Forest management keeps our water drinkable, our air breathable and our forests healthy so we can all play it safe in the forest.
Give And Take
Unless you’re a rock, breathing is kind of an important thing, even for trees, and trees love to breathe carbon. They pull the stuff right out of the air, and they give us oxygen, which we love to breathe. It’s all give and take. That’s why we need to manage for healthy growing forests. Because future campers are counting on tree places to pitch a tent and oxygen to breathe.
A Whole Lot Of Love
Sure there’s plenty of science behind forest management, but there’s also a whole lot of love that goes into it too. When it comes to taking care of the forest, it turns out that staying on top of it is the key. If we don’t, it can get a bit unruly (like my beard) and forest fires burn bigger and hotter, and playing outside would be a lot less – funner.
